Deuteronomy 27: A critical analysis of Modern Christian Doctrine.

Note: Blue text is used to differentiate the Word of God from the doctrines of men.

Deuteronomy 27:15-26 

15 Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say

Jesus nailed that to the cross.

Correction: All the people shall answer and say, AMEN.

16 Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say

I’m under grace!

Correction: All the people shall answer and say, AMEN.

17 Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour’s landmark. And all the people shall say

Oh that was the old covenant, we can steal from our neighbor, we can take his land now, we can lie to him and take his investments and talk him into investments that are going to tank just so we can make a commission on wall street.

Correction: All the people shall answer and say, AMEN.

18 Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say

If I keep that commandment I’ve fallen from grace.  Oh you better not keep that commandment, that means your under the law and if anyone catches you keeping the TORAH in your church you could be thrown out, did you know that?

Correction: All the people shall answer and say, AMEN.

19 Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

20 Cursed be he that lieth with his father’s wife; because he uncovereth his father’s skirt. And all the people shall say

Jesus kept that commandment so I don’t have to.

Correction: All the people shall answer and say, AMEN.

21 Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say

I keep that commandment in the spirit not in the flesh.

Correction: All the people shall answer and say, AMEN.

22 Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say

If we confess this sin he can’t even remember it…  It is cast as far as the east is from the west.

Correction: All the people shall answer and say, AMEN.

23 Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say

God doesn’t see me in bed with my wife’s mother…  He just sees Jesus on the cross when he looks at me.

Correction: All the people shall answer and say, AMEN.

24 Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.

25 Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say

Well  Jesus made all things pure.  we can do all things through Christ now.

Correction: All the people shall answer and say, AMEN.

26 Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Some advice from Yeshua ( also known as Jesus )

For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.

But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words? John 5:46-47

Ten Commandments in the New Testament

COMMANDMENT ONE

From the Old Testament: Thou shalt have no other gods before me. [Exodus 20:3]

From the New Testament: Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. [Matthew 4:10]

 

COMMANDMENT TWO

From the Old Testament: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: [Exodus 20:4] – Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; [Exodus 20:5]

From the New Testament: Little children, keep yourselves from idols. [1 John 5:21]

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. [Act 17:29]

 

COMMANDMENT THREE

From the Old Testament: Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. [Exodus 20:7]

From the New Testament: Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. [1Titus 6:1]

 

COMMANDMENT FOUR

From the Old Testament: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. [Exodus 20:8]

From the New Testament: For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. [Hebrews 4:4 ]

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. [Hebrews 4:9-10]

 

COMMANDMENT FIVE

From the Old Testament: Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. [Exodus 20:12]

From the New Testament: Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [Matthew 19:19]

 

COMMANDMENT SIX

From the Old Testament: Thou shalt not murder. [Exodus 20:13]

From the New Testament: For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not murder, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [Romans 13:9]

 

COMMANDMENT SEVEN

From the Old Testament: Thou shalt not commit adultery. [Exodus 20:14]

From the New Testament: He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, [Matthew 19:18]

 

COMMANDMENT EIGHT

From the Old Testament: Thou shalt not steal. [Exodus 20:15]

From the New Testament: For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not murder, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [Romans 13:9]

 

COMMANDMENT NINE

From the Old Testament: Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. [Exodus 20:16]

From the New Testament: For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not murder,Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [Romans 13:9]

 

COMMANDMENT TEN

From the Old Testament: Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s. [Exodus 20:17]

From the New Testament: What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. [Romans 7:7]
